2009 - resolutions..

Its nearly the new year my friends!!! So lets discuss new years resolutions....

I normally make a few new year resolutions which nearly always get forgetten and then remembered around my birthday, and I will come up with some lame excuse as to why I havent put them into action like "oh I usually only make new year resolutions on my birthday as thats my new year!" but then still I dont do anything about it!!!

so this year it WILL be different. I have decided to make them as realistic as possible as I get really disheartened when I dont see the fruits of my labour.

so here they are, to be completed by 2010.....

1. I will loose 10 pounds (and then re-assess)
2. To start my book (I have endless amounts of notes about characters and story lines already).
3. to do 3 hours of excersise over a week period (gym, dvd, walking at a good pace etc etc).
4. to read books that are informative and not, as my husband calls them, porn books.
5. go and see a polo match at the local ground / pitch...whatever its called.

I will start these NOW. I have healthy food in the house, we went for a really long walk yesterday and the book notes are staring at me.....

My questions for today are...do you have any new years resolutions, do you normally succeed, do you think women make them and men not?

its nearly christmas

This will probably be my last blog before christmas, and who knows, i might find a new blog site - watch this space for updates.

its nearly christmas and I am very busy, making and baking and also being a child....the stocking has been put up and the presents have been bought and wrapped...all there is to do now is enjoy the day!!

my favourite part of the day is when I first wake, the moment when you realise its christmas day, the excitment of the day ahead!!! I love that feeling, if we could just bottle it.

I try and do as much as I can do on christmas eve, like cook the meat and bake the mince pies and clean the house etc etc so all that is left to do is just enjoy the day. Its extra special because I have a son who is 5 and he is syked about Father Christmas. When my son had his first christmas, my husband and I had this really long chat about the whole Father Christmas thing...for 364 days of the year we tell our kids not to talk to strangers, not to open the door and let just anybody in, but for 1 night only, we not only let a stranger into the house but we allow said stranger to wander the house freely while we sleep??? We didnt know if hat was conflicting messages for our son. But lets face it, childhood is such an innocent time, they dont know about "bad men" as my mum used to call them, all they know is magic (and what presents theywill be getting!)

So enjoy it I shall!!!

my question for this issue is what is your favourite part of christmas day and is it the same now as when you were a child?

work party blushes.

last night I went to the Christmas party, delicious food, excellent atmosphere and the exciting tremours of "its nearly Christmas!!!". Now, I am not the sort of person that necessarily hangs out with work people as the conversation nearly always is about work.
Not at work, do not want to talk about work on a friday night at a beautiful restaurant. But I have to say with a smile on my face, I had a really good night.

I had decided before I went that I would just people watch. I don't think one really gets a chance to do this at work as one is supposed to be working???? As I watched these familiar faces laughing and talking intently, it struck me as odd that for a year and half i don't think I really know these people. Yes, I call some of them friends and yes I have a good relationship with all of them, but do you really know the people that you work with.

That all said, it was a rather revealing night with certain people personalities and by just watching them and their body language and how they interacted with other's was rather incitful!

My question for today is - what have you experienced lately that has made you think / smile or ponder?

good words

so, again I sit here with the expectant rush of enthusiasm for doing housework - still waiting!!

as I sit here I also have the TV on - sad I know.

on an advert (of which the product shall remain nameless) there was a gentleman who said "I am a human being, not a human waiting or a human sitting, but a human being".

I like that... and no doubt I shall be using it.

so, my question for today is, what saying gets you moving or inspires you?

the beginning

So, my friends. This is the beginning of, what I hope, to be a beautiful friendship!
at the moment I am supposed to be doing all manner of other things other than sitting here on my laptop hoping for inspiration about what to write. I guess I am not the only one who is bored of the daily mundane things and am whiling away the time on the Internet!!!
I hope that when I get my sorry ass around to posting my blog, each time will have a thought or a question for you to ponder and for (again there is the "hopefully") you special people will leave me a comment!

thought for the day = why do cats always lick their ass in the middle of the floor when there are guests round??

thanks for reading and I'll speak soon
